March 2023 Monthly Round Up

Well well well we’re back again with a Round Up which is later than usual. That is my (Emma’s) fault because for the first time in a long time I got sick and when I say sick I mean it. As well as dealing with that, work had both of us kept busy as well. Adulting and blogging at the same time is hard but all we can do is our best. So while we spent the month surviving on Red Bull and dying a little on the inside, we’re still happy to share a few of our favourite things about this month with you.

Book of the Month

E: If I managed to look at a book this month I’d be proud.

N: Grimm Tales for young and old – Emma gifted me a beautiful copy of the brother’s Grimm fairy tales and I’ve been slowly reading it before bedtime during March.

Movies & TV

TV Show Picks

E: Bridgerton – when I say I steamrollered through every episode as quickly as I could, I mean it.

N: Enjoying the German TV show Faking Hitler currently.

Good Movie Recommendation

E: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

N: Sweeney Tood: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Cheesy Bad Movie Recommendation

E: Legally Blonde – “What, like it’s hard?”

N: Clueless

Gaming Picks

E: Gran Turismo 7 – it requires the least amount of thought and effort to play.

N: Ahead of the new update next week Disney Dreamlight has rocked back into the top spot ahead of the pridelands aspect being extended!

Music

Single of the Month

E: Part Of Me – Cian Ducrot

N: Lost The Breakup – Maisie Peters

Album/EP of the Month

E: So Much (For) Stardust – Fall Out Boy

N: I’ve been falling back in love with ‘Lover’ by Taylor Swift this month.

Favourite Things

Favourite Thing About March

E: I’ve been so busy at work I didn’t even have time to realise I had a sinus infection until after I’d beaten it with no antibiotics or steroids. A big dub for my immune system.

N: The end of the month when we officially sold out for school tour bookings in June. I even did a celebration dance when we called it!

Favourite Item of the Month

E: My new notebook that I’ve filled with some of the things that I love about myself. Self love is always so important.

N: Red Bull… Don’t ask, it’s been an extremely tough month!

Event of the Month

E: My only event this month was a table quiz but my team actually did pretty okay and weren’t last so that’s a win.

N: A surprise trip to see Ed Sheeran in concert. A last minute opportunity that we ran with.

Moment of the Month

E: To have a moment of the month, I’d need to be able to get out of bed without feeling ill. Ask again next month.

N: A child speaking only Ukrainian and for just a few moments understanding fully what they were telling me. Sometimes all it takes is excited facial expressions and someone excited about what they have found!

Your Quote of the Month

E: “You should smile more, love” – I would if a creepy customer didn’t feel the need to insist that I smile for them. I’m here to work, not perform.

N: “And she had learned that things could not be changed by willing them to be different. Dreams, hopes, wishes, were just like that. Strength lay in keeping tight hold of reality, even if it was like grasping a stinging nettle in her hand.” From ‘Chain of Thorns’ by Cassandra Clare.

Three things you are most excited about for April

E: Since my April consists of all of no plans, I’m looking forward to sleep, life without vertigo and new people in work.

N: A reunion with my girlies for the first time in forever, taking time to enjoy life again and a number of new book releases from my favourite authors.
