*gingermeister voice*(look them up on TikTok, coffee gremlin is hilarious) Hello! It is the last playlist addition of 2020 which means I can officially say HAPPY NEW YEAR!! This month’s selection of songs is different as these aren’t songs I heard; these are some of the songs that I love the most and some of the most played songs on my laptop and every song has a little explanation with it unlike previous months. This whole My Year in Music idea started as a New Year resolution to create a personal playlist with a song for every day of the year but I decided to share it on the blog for everyone to enjoy because music is best when it’s shared. This whole idea also showed me just how important music is. 300+ songs written and created by the people who, thanks to the pandemic, are currently unemployed. Without the creative minds of musicians, producers, sound engineers and crew, life would be very dull and lack a fabulous soundtrack. Music and the arts are what bring colour, sound, entertainment and light into our lives and we can’t abandon the people who have given so much of themselves and their art to us now when they need us most. If you can afford to donate to charities like We Need Crew or We Make Events, please do.
“Where words fail, music speaks.”
– Hans Christian Anderson

Dec 1: Last Goodbye – Wild Youth (You can’t beat the original)
Dec 2: Confident – Demi Lovato (I dare you to listen to this song and not strut like you’re James Potter at Hogwarts XD)
Dec 3: Salute – Little Mix (Girl Power in a song and it’s catchy AF. Gimme!)
Dec 4: Survivor – 2WEI (From the Tomb Raider Soundtrack and I’ve always loved Lara so this song made an impact)
Dec 5: 6 o’Clock – Chasing Abbey (Loyalty is homegrown. Respect, however, is not. This is respect)
Dec 6: 7 Rings – Ariana Grande (Always reminds me of my friends)
Dec 7: Meet You There – 5 Seconds of Summer (This was the song that hooked me on 5sos. The first song that wasn’t a single that I genuinely listened to.)
Dec 8: Never Mine – Sigrid (It wouldn’t be my playlist if I didn’t include Sigrid)
Dec 9: I See The Light – Tangled Soundtrack (I will always be looking for my Flynn Rider/ Eugene Fitzherbert)
Dec 10: #SELFIE – The Chainsmokers (but first….lemme take a selfie)
Dec 11: Get Over It – The Eagles (I was raised right and those songs have stuck with me to this day)
Dec 12: Glow – Gavin James (This song is just catchy and followed me everywhere for weeks but it never fails to make me smile)
Dec 13: The Feeling – Justin Bieber feat. Halsey (Just the best song on Purpose, the best Justin Bieber album, and that is a hill I am willing to die on. Deal With It)
Dec 14: Nothing – Niall Horan (This shouldn’t have been left as a bonus track and it shouldn’t have been left off Spotify either! This song deserves a moment in the sun because it’s honest)
Dec 15: Perfect – One Direction (hey it’s me!)
Dec 16: Evermore – Dan Stevens (From the live action remake of my favourite Disney Princess Movie. Beautiful *chef’s kiss*)

Dec 25: Look What You Made Me Do – Taylor Swift (This is a song that shows that you do not underestimate even the nicest person.)
Dec 26: Merry Go Round of Life – Howl’s Moving Castle (This is like the hold music in my brain. It’s rarely not on my mind)
