We can all breathe a sigh of relief as the 365 days of January is finally over! At Our Muchness Guide highlights in January included the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians coming to a dramatic yet emotional end, Niamh surrounding herself in all things Eurovision ahead of Eurosong and the couch to Eras tour featuring a slow start all round! It’s been a roller coaster start to 2024 and we’re only over the first hurdle. So, without further ado let’s round up the longest month of the year!
Book of the Month
E: The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle – Rick Riordan – you’ll begin to see a theme, trust me.
N: Beginning my adventures with Percy Jackson and the lighting thief.
Movies & TV
TV Show Picks
E: Percy Jackson and the Olympians – I adore Walker Scobell as Percy and I’m really hoping Season 2 shows up sooner rather than later.
N: Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Agreeing with Emma on this one, it was an amazing show and I really hope we get a season 2.
Good Movie Recommendation
E: The Eras Tour Extended Edition – Finally got to sit down and watch 3 hours of Taylor Swift amazingness and I’ll do it again in June.
N: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Cheesy Bad Movie Recommendation
E: Green Lantern – it’s as bad as I remember it.
N: The newest Indiana movie. Indiana Jones and the dial of Destiny. Look, is it another insane plot with Harrison Ford doing what he does best as Indi?… Yes, yes it is however, we still watched it as a family in my house!
Gaming Picks
E: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
N: Nothing done gaming wise this month outside of keeping my disney dreamlight ticking over
Music
Single of the Month
E: ‘London’ ItaloBrothers
N: ‘False Alarm’ Moncrieff
Album/EP of the Month
E: ‘1989 TV’ Taylor Swift – while I wait for a reputation TV that doesn’t seem like it’s ever coming.
N: ‘Heartbreak Weather’ Niall Horan. Getting ready to see Nialler again in concert and starting off strong with my favourite album.
Favourite Things
Favourite Thing About January?
E: The return to a regular work schedule. This feels like a break after Christmas.
N: The hype for Eurovision 2024 kicked into full swing, Eurosong, the semi final draws and a number of other countries’ semi finals and finals.
Favourite Item of the Month
E: My new smart watch – now I just need to start using it as, oh I don’t know, a watch maybe?
N: My headphones, it’s been an insane month for bookings for school tours coming in and I’m still in the mindset of headphones on, ignore the world and put in bookings.
Event of the Month
E: Are we really surprised I went to no events this month? No. Was I working? Obviously.
N: Eurosong 2024!
Moment of the Month
E: Finding out Niamh smashed it on the Late Late Show. Proud bestie right here!
N: My debut in front of the camera on the Late Late Show!
Your Quote of the Month
E: “rep TV is coming” – *hint* it isn’t.
N: “Send the witch!” as heard from RTE Studio 4.
Three things you are most excited about for February
E: The Super Bowl should be interesting this year (go Taylor’s boyfriend! I joke, I joke. Go Jason Kelce’s little brother! from an Eagles fan), seeing Niall Horan I suppose… and just a lot more chilled out, laid back month than January please.
N:Niall Horan, NIALL HORAN and uhh.. Niall Horan gigs!
