April 2023 Monthly Round Up

April, what a month! Surrounded by many hours of work, two reunions for Our Muchness Guide, Niamh breaking a bone and the Chasing Abbey guys dropping a new song a week via their The Vault Series (that’s just scratching the surface); April was week after week of insane mayhem that we both loved! With April being so hectic we are finally getting to post our belated post all about our favourite things! Let’s get straight to it!

Book of the Month

E: Honestly, I’ve been too tired to do anything other than chill out in front of the TV lately so I didn’t read any books this month.

N: My favourite author Lauren Kate released her first children’s book and of course it’s my top pick for the month. ‘One True Wish’ I always have a soft spot for fairies!

Movies & TV

TV Show Picks

E: Extraordinary – a genuinely funny series on Disney+ that is all sorts of wacky.

N: Finally got to catch up with The Mandalorian, loving every minute of it

Good Movie Recommendation

E: Taylor Swift reputation Stadium Tour – considering I’ve never seen Taylor Swift perform live and all anyone is talking about lately is the Eras tour, watching the tour that revolves around my favourite of her albums was an amazing experience. There will be no explanation. There will just be reputation.

N: The Super Mario bros. Movie. I honestly loved it.

Cheesy Bad Movie Recommendation

E: A Tourist’s Guide to Love – Predictable as all hell but still cheesy enough that I sat and watched the whole thing. It didn’t make me think too hard, okay?

N: I went on a Disney channel binge again this month. Den Brother gets my vote this month.

Gaming Picks

E: I am waiting for my game of the year to arrive in May and then I will not shut up about it for months. You’ve all been warned but, until then, Disney Dreamlight Valley has been keeping me entertained.

N: Didn’t get to game much this month. Looking forward to Emma nerding out about the new Zelda game next month.

Music

Single of the Month

E: ‘Little Girl Gone’ by CHINCHILLA. Special mention to ‘My View’ by Chasing Abbey which was released on Soundcloud and Youtube only and is technically not a single.

N: ‘Fictional’ Khloe Rose. I’ve been waiting two years to sing along about our fictional boyfriends and it’s finally out in the world. As Emma said we have to give a special shout out to the Chasing Abbey lads as they are releasing a new song every Wednesday to their Soundcloud.

Album/EP of the Month

E: BEN – Macklemore

N: Eurovision 2023 Album – getting ready for Eurovision madness had never been easier!

Favourite Things

Favourite Thing About April?

E: Finally catching up on all the F1 data gathering I missed while I was sick and I do it for fun every race weekend. I loooove me some F1 time sheets and track information.

N: Being surrounded by friends at multiple occasions throughout the month was deffinately my favourite. Long distance friendships reunions are always the best.

Favourite Item of the Month

E: My new notebook that I am using to compile all the best bits about me because if you can’t love yourself how can anyone else.

N: Ice packs. Let’s just say breaking your big toe leaves a lot of time with icing it.

Event of the Month

E: I had a grand total of no events this month because all I did was work six days a week. My social life doesn’t exist.

N: Roisin O in Limerick, such an amazing gig with lovely people.

Moment of the Month

E: Getting to chill with Niamh in my hometown and enjoy good food and a proper catch up.

N: Moment of the month has to go to me breaking my big toe! First bone to be broken and by gosh was it at the most inconvient time!

Your Quote of the Month

E: “When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you’ll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.”

N: “People are going to judge you anyway, so you might as well do what you want.” – Taylor Swift

Three things you are most excited about for May

E: May 12th means I’m going to disappear off the face of the planet until I finish obsessing over The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which according to my Zelda YouTubers lives up to all the hype. Aside from that, I’m also excited to meet some new work colleagues and hopefully get to be a bit more social sooner rather than later.

N: Eurovision, holidays and did I mention Eurovision? I’ve been looking forward to it for months…. (years actually)!
