My Year in Music January 2023

Sending my love from the other side of the longest month of the year. January felt like it crawled by but February has finally arrived and, before a month of romance reminds me that I’m very much alone yet again (Thanks Valentine’s Day), I have a whole month worth of music to share with you and a shiny new playlist! Some of these choices are highly influenced by other people and what they say without thinking (you know who you are) so thank you to brain filter failures everywhere XD

If I’m being honest, sometimes I worry that this playlist gets a bit too personal and tells a bit too much of a story but I suppose these songs are open to your interpretation. If they tell a story, that says more about you and less about me. You know seeing things that aren’t there and telling everyone else about it is the first sign of insanity, just saying. Everything is not always what it seems. So without further ado, let’s kick off our playlist and give you a whole month worth of bops to enjoy.

As per usual, I’m linking the monthly Spotify playlists (which is also currently the playlist for the month too). This year, however, I’m going to leave out the YouTube playlist to make the whole process much simpler. Finally, a very hoppy new year to everyone who celebrated Chinese New Year. May the year of the Rabbit bring you good fortune, peace and prosperity. Welcome to 2023, it’s been waiting for you. (If US Senators can quote Taylor Swift, so can I!)

Peace. Love. We out!
