Did we accidentally forget about one of the most recurring posts on our blog? Pfft never!! But, have no fear, the round-up is here! Also it was entirely my (Emma’s) fault because I can’t stop procrastinating. But a belated Happy Halloween and a blessed Samhain witches! The time of pumpkin spice and sweaters is upon us! Basic B*tches rejoice! Before we enter properly into sweater weather season here’s a look at some of our favourite things from last month!
Book of the Month
E: Honestly, I haven’t read much this month.
N: Didn’t get to sit down and read anything not related to coursework this month. But, really looking forward to reading ‘Charm’ by Tracy Wolff this November.
Movies & TV
TV Show Picks
E: The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself – I had to find something Halloweeny to watch and this was perfect.
N: Keeping in the Halloween mood, American Horror Stories Season 2.
Good Movie Recommendation
E: Kiki’s Delivery Service – I rewatch it at least once a year.
N: The yearly appreciation for Halloweentown
Cheesy Bad Movie Recommendation
E: Ghost Rider – the cringe! The absolute cringe! Oh god, make it stop.
N: Hubie Halloween. It was my second time watching it this year and is still cheesily funny!
Gaming Picks
E: The Fenyx Rising DLC. I loved the original game and had so much fun with the extra content.
N: I only got to play a little bit and so did Emma but, I finally got Gotham Knights. It’s amazing!
Music
Single of the Month
E: Rihanna ‘Lift Me Up’
N: Ryan Mack ‘Sleepyhead’
Album/EP of the Month
E: Midnights – Taylor Swift. I’m still recovering from the excellence of Midnights and I didn’t need to be called out by her lyrics.
N: ‘Midnights 3am Edition’ Like Emma said we’re all still recovering from this masterpiece. I went with the 3am edition because some of my favourite songs are on it. Getting called out by lyrics is necessary sometimes.
Favourite Things
Favourite Thing About October?
E: A full reunion of the most insane group chat that I’m part of. It was so amazing to bring the whole group together and I love those ladies dearly but never try to teach them how to use chopsticks. (Niamh cackling at the chopsticks memory).
N: I have to agree with Emma. Finally having a reunion with some of my very best friends was exactly what I needed.
Favourite Item of the Month
E: My computer. It helped me to put together work that I’m really proud of this month.
N: My new Cap, when I say I was so excited, the members of WY actually listened and made them! I got one!
Event of the Month
E: Wild Youth in the Olympia. It felt like it’d been a long time since I’d been to a Wild Youth gig. Unfortunately, I was so sleep deprived I don’t remember much of it; someone fill me in.
N: The Blizzards unplugged, it was such a special and intimate event! I am always a sucker for an acoustic set but this was phenomenal!
Moment of the Month
E: Getting a hug from my favourite Max Verstappen fan. It’s always so wonderful to see them when I get the chance.
N: After six weeks of doing my Pilot Sessions with an amazing group, I was blown away by how thoughtful the kids and parents were. I don’t think Thank You says my feelings enough.
Your Quote of the Month
E: Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.
N: Breathe in, breathe through Breathe deep, breathe out’ Labyrinth by Taylor Swift
Three things you are most excited about for November
E: There’s some amazing gigs coming up this month, some serious amounts of mischief to get up to and, of course, there’s some planning for Christmas to do as well. There’s a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it.
N: Seeing my guys Chasing Abbey again, Matilda the Musical Movie and getting everything ready for my favourite time of the year for celebrations at work and at Yulefest
