Happy Friday Everyone! The weekend is finally here but, more importantly, it is our favourite day for music here at Our Muchness Guide. #NewMusicFriday is a go and we decided to do something new this month to showcase our favourite new music every Friday in March. So, without further ado, let’s dive right into it!

Till Forever Falls Apart – Ashe & FINNEAS
First up is Ashe & Finneas ‘Till Forever Falls Apart’. This song dropped on Tuesday and honestly we couldn’t leave it out for our first New Music Friday! Ashe is an American singer/songwriter who shot to worldwide recognition with her song ‘Moral of The Story’ which featured on the Netflix Original Movie To All The Boys I Loved Before. Last year saw her release the same song featuring Niall Horan. She’s back with another unforgettable and honest song but, this time, it features Finneas! The song tells the story of a love that promises being together through thick and thin until the very end.
Falling Up – Dean Lewis
Dean Lewis appeared with ‘Be Alright’ in 2019 and his latest single ‘Falling Up’ evokes just as much emotion, just a different kind. This time around Dean once again connects to his listener; conveying the anxiety, despair and claustrophobia as “nothing’s ever good enough” in what is a situation that should make him happy.
Paradise (Piano Version) – Meduza feat. Dermot Kennedy
Next up, we have Dermot Kennedy and Meduza with ‘Paradise (Piano Version)’. ‘Paradise’ as we all know was one of the biggest songs of 2020 with it dominating on the airwaves! The announcement dropped yesterday that a piano version was coming our way and here it is. We adore Dermot Kennedy and when this version is just his voice with the instrumental being just a piano: we literally swoon!
When You See Yourself – Kings of Leon
Kings of Leon are finally back with their eighth album! The band finally sound like they are truly comfortable with their own sound merging old and new sounds together to create their best album yet, in my opinion! I shared my favourite song off the album above ‘Golden Restless Age’ but, I’m sure there’s at least one song on the album every Kings of Leon fan will connect with!
This is Heaven – Nick Jonas
Nick Jonas is releasing solo music again but, panic not, the Jonas Brothers are still together. ‘This Is Heaven’ is the second single from Nick’s upcoming solo album, Spaceman, and has a fabulous pop, almost synthy vibe and sounds like a celebration of surrendering to love.
The Great Escape – Rae Sam
Rae Sam is an up and coming Welsh Country Pop singer. 2020 and January 2021 saw her release three singles that can be found on the album ‘The Great Escape’. She has received a lot of airplay across radio stations in the UK. If you are a Country Music fan make sure you check her music out. She is on her way to being the next big thing on our side of the Atlantic.
Heart + Bones (Acoustic) – Roisin O
If the original saw listeners feeling all of the feels, the acoustic is going to amplify those feelings. The acoustic was recorded in the stunning Mitchelstown Cave which adds to the mesmerising acoustics in this recording. The addition of a stringed instrument adds another layer of haunting sound to the song that will make you fall in love with the song all over again.
New Love (Shane Codd Remix) – Mark Robson & Diplo, Ellie Goulding & Silk City
The newest track by Shane Codd ‘New Love Remix’ dropped today also! Shane is a 24 year old Irish DJ and producer. Shane first made it into our radar back in January with his top 10 Irish hit ‘Get Out My Head’. His latest track features vocals from Ellie Goulding. Shane is an artist we urge everyone to keep an eye out for in 2021.
Hope Among Other Things – Somebody’s Child
Somebody’s Child have been a constant on our individual and joint playlists since 2018. If your not familiar with them, Somebody’s Child is a Indie-rock/pop band hailing from Dublin. ‘Hope Amongst Other Things’ has four songs on it, three that came out between 2020 and 2021; ‘Top Drawer Romance’, ‘Lost’ and ‘The Lover’. With a brand new song ‘Brother’ joining them. I don’t like comparing Somebody’s Child to anyone because, I believe, they’re in a league of their own and everyone needs to listen to them at least once!
Selfish Love – DJ Snake & Selena Gomez
‘Selfish Love’ delivers such summery vibes from Selena Gomez and DJ Snake but is also such a chilled out track. The song tells the story of a couple using jealousy like a game in their relationship. The language barrier will not stop this track from being a serious contender for Song of the Summer and is the third single from Selena’s upcoming EP, Revelación, which is out March 12th.
Make My Mind Up – Tom Grennan
A big change from his previous single ‘A Little Bit of Love’ but every bit as good, Tom Grennan has released a second single from his upcoming album, Evering Road. ‘Make My Mind Up’ is a beautiful ballad that, to me, asks for help figuring out what is the best option when you’re in too deep and don’t know what you want.
Used To Be – Tolu Makay
Slow and soulful, ‘Used To Be’ seems to touch on the huge impact that one person can have on your entire life even after they’ve left it. Tolu Makay has a wonderful soft falsetto that really brings out the wistful tone of her lyrics and, with just the right amount of accompaniment, her vocals and lyrics take centre stage and shine. Unfortunately, I can’t find the song on YouTube.
Until next week, we hope you enjoy getting lost in the music!
