It’s the end of another year and before we sum up the year that has been, we are looking towards 2020… Resolutions both personally and musically are being made among other assessments about our life! But, the most fun thing that Emma decided on weeks ago was a blog post entitled “F*** It Bucket!” If you are a fan of The Blizzards you will be familiar with this song if not, go listen to it here while reading this post! So instead of making a list of things we’d rather leave in 2019 and lock it away from the world… for all of your entertainment we talked it out, wrote them down on a piece of paper and Niamh grabbed the nearest Rose’s Chocolates box (since we don’t have a bucket in Emma’s house) and we got to work!
In no particular order here is the list of things we ‘hope’ we can leave in 2019. Onwards and upwards… Be the best versions of ourselves… and “All That Jazz!”
“My love life…”
2020 is going to be the year of productivity and growth. If anyone decides to try to sweep me off my feet they can try but I’m done being the one to lay all the cards on the table first. So, leaving all the awkwardness, last minute cold feet and the ‘what ifs’ in 2019. No one needs to start 2020 with a rerun love triangle again…
“Insecurities”
My biggest one I need to overcome in 2020 is, despite one voice trying to be the loudest on why they hate you and don’t want you there.. not everyone thinks the same. 95% of people appreciate the support you show. I shouldn’t allow one person’s opinion outweigh my fun and where I am happy. Also about 15 other insecurities!
The first big insecurity I’ll be working to conquer is that nagging voice saying that people don’t care what you think or what you have to say. Opinions matter. They may not always be positive but sometimes negative feedback is the best way to improve the quality of work. 100% blunt honesty. Secondly, I may be one of many but I still count. The day I stop showing you loyalty is the day you know you f*cked up your chances. Peace!
“Laziness”
I spent a lot of my time sitting idle, twiddling my thumbs or drawing my year away trying to avoid doing real constructive project work when I could have been achieving more. I want to achieve more and make a good start to a new decade. I have serious goals I’m aiming to get fully started in 2020 and I’m coming at it with a take no prisoners kind of attitude. After all “Do or do not. There is no try.”
“Opinions that really don’t matter”
Being afraid of what others think of your work when they really don’t play a part in your life. Their thoughts on you in general and just those who only pass comments to put you down. Those are all being left in 2019.
I cared far too much what people thought this year and it’s time to go back to doing things for me and doing them my way.
“Healthier/Being a fat slob!”
With my health taking a massive hit towards the second half of 2019. With different meds and resorting to comfort eating to deal with what was going on… I wasn’t being the healthiest version of myself. 2020 the meds won’t change too much as we get to the bottom of some things but I do hope to be healthier in 2020.
I on the other hand have no reasons for the amount of junk food and sweets I’ve been eating this year and I’ve spent enough time sitting on my butt in 2019. So 2020 will be full of healthier diet choices and ideas and better exercise habits and maybe less sugar. Better find a good substitute fast.
“Putting off chasing my dreams”
I’ve been doing this for a few years. 2020 will see Our Muchness Guide embarking on a number of new adventures, goals and challenges. I hope you all are excited for the start of something new, exciting and totally us!
I’ve been putting ideas on the long finger for ages and I’ve missed out on great chances so 2020 will be a chance for me to take the shots even if the chances are high that people will say no. Like the saying goes: “You miss all the shots you don’t take.” Our Muchness Guide is only going to get bigger, better and louder in 2020 and I really can’t wait to see what you guys, gals and pal think.
